Nasdaq Bitcoin Options Approval Paused Amid CME Group Challenge

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has paused its review of Nasdaq's proposed Bitcoin index options product, known as QBTC, following a legal challenge from CME Group.

CME Group raised concerns about market structure, competition, and regulatory treatment in its challenge against the SEC's approval decision.

The pause does not necessarily mean that the QBTC product will be rejected. Instead, it indicates that regulators are taking additional time to examine the concerns raised by CME Group before allowing the product to move forward.
