National Bank of Canada Reveals Multi-Million Dollar Crypto Holdings
Canadian bank National Bank of Canada has revealed its holdings in various cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including an XRP ETF and several Bitcoin ETFs. According to a recent SEC Form 13F filing, the bank owns millions of dollars' worth of shares in these ETFs.
The largest exposure reported by the bank is in the ProShares Bitcoin ETF, which consists of 42,321 shares valued at approximately $5.31 million. The bank also owns 55,644 shares of the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, worth around $1.09 million.
This disclosure comes as Grayscale's XRP Trust ETF reported significant XRP sales in the first half of 2026. According to recent filings, Grayscale has sold $180.78 million worth of XRP, comprised of approximately 103.41 million XRP to satisfy investor redemptions.
The sales have impacted the trust's net asset value (NAV), resulting in over $34 million of realized losses on the sale of XRP.
