NEAR Gives Intents Attacker 48 Hours to Respond

NEAR Protocol has given the individual responsible for the recent 'intents attacker' attack 48 hours to respond. The incident occurred on February 9, 2023, and saw the attacker steal $1.6 million worth of NEAR tokens.

The attacker, who has not been named, used a vulnerability in the protocol's interface to exploit user accounts and transfer funds to their own wallets.

In a statement, the NEAR Protocol team said that they were working closely with the affected users and law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute the attacker.
