The recent Bitget hack has left the crypto community reeling, with attackers attempting to route stolen assets through multiple swap venues. NEAR Intents, a cross-chain crypto infrastructure provider, says its systems identified over $50 million in attempted transfers from the hackers.

According to Alex Shevchenko, general manager of NEAR Intents, the protocol's SHIELD system blocked most of these attempts and froze around $503,000. However, about $166,000 was able to pass through while the rest awaits a legal and recovery process.

This incident highlights the importance of security controls and governance for cross-chain crypto platforms. NEAR Intents' intervention in this case contrasts with that of THORChain, which resisted Bitget's request to block attacker addresses.
