NEAR Intents Pauses Cross-Chain Deposits After $3.8 Million Exploit
A bug in NEAR Intents' Omni deposit and withdrawal system has led to an estimated $3.8 million loss, prompting the platform to pause cross-chain deposits and withdrawals across 11 networks.
The incident occurred when a contract vulnerability was discovered between the Omni infrastructure and a NEAR Intents smart contract.
NEAR Intents stated that all affected funds would be fully compensated, with the project reporting that the contract-side vulnerability has been patched.
However, deposits and withdrawals on BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll, and Plasma were temporarily suspended for approximately 12 more hours while additional work was carried out on the Omni infrastructure.
