NEAR Momentum Stalls as Token Hits Overbought Territory
NEAR Protocol has been one of the top-performing Layer-1 tokens in recent times, but its momentum is starting to stall. The token is currently trading at $5.14 after a significant intraday drop from $5.58, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) deeply overbought and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) flatlining.
The fact that RSI is in overbought territory doesn't necessarily mean NEAR will crash immediately, but when combined with a zero MACD histogram, it indicates that buying pressure and selling pressure are in equilibrium. The Bollinger Bands also show that the price is knocking on the ceiling at $5.77, which could lead to a breakout or a breakdown.
According to the article's probabilistic paths, there is a 65% chance of NEAR failing to reclaim $5.45 and plummeting to $4.75 initially, with an extended pullback to $4.41 if BTC also wobbles. On the other hand, there is a 35% chance of $4.95 holding as support, allowing NEAR to consolidate between $4.95 and $5.45 for three to five days before making another push towards $5.77.
