Near Protocol Faces Key Resistance Near $5.60 After Strong Rally
Near Protocol (NEAR) is facing a critical technical juncture after a strong rally in September. Currently trading around $5.29, the token has repeatedly struggled to break past the $5.40, $5.60 resistance zone, forming a potential triple-top pattern that could challenge the key $5 support level.
The rally began in August from approximately $1.60, with NEAR surging above $2.50 in mid-September and doubling within two weeks. However, the upward momentum has stalled near the $5.40, $5.60 range, with three failed attempts to establish a new high. Each attempt has been met with strong resistance, creating a pattern that could signal a reversal if support breaks.
The immediate support level to watch is $5.00, a battleground between buyers and sellers. Below that, $4.70, $4.80 is a more significant support level. A daily close beneath $4.70 could confirm a broader reversal. Meanwhile, momentum indicators like the RSI suggest the rally is losing steam, even as NEAR remains near its highs.
Despite the cautionary signs, the overall trend remains strong, with NEAR trading well above major moving averages. The shortest moving average is around $4.25. A decisive close above $5.60 would invalidate the triple-top thesis and could push NEAR toward $6.00. Until then, the likelihood of another test of $5.00 or even $4.70 is increasing.
