NEAR Protocol Surpasses $70M in Confidential Finance Ecosystem Growth
NEAR Protocol has reached a milestone in its development of confidential finance infrastructure. The platform's total value locked (TVL) has surpassed $70 million, with approximately $137.8 million at the latest reading, according to DeFiLlama. This growth is attributed to the protocol's ability to enable assets and actions to be exchanged across multiple chains through an intent-based architecture.
The success of NEAR Intents is not only due to confidential lending marketplaces but also building private DEX infrastructure and vaults that utilize private yields without exposing sensitive data. The platform has positioned privacy as a core element of development, with nearly 40% of recent developer activity focused on privacy, identity, and intent-based applications.
Confidential finance resolves the trade-off between transparency and legacy privacy coins by integrating zero-knowledge proofs with selective disclosure for compliance. This is particularly pertinent at a time when authorities are intensifying their attack on on-chain privacy financial services.
The trend towards $100M volume could see confidential execution become the default way to handle cross-chain DeFi rather than merely an additional option.
