NEAR Unveils Unified Liquidity Layer for Cross-Chain Activity
NEAR Protocol has unveiled NEAR Intents, an initiative to create a unified liquidity layer for decentralized finance. The goal is to simplify cross-chain activity by connecting liquidity across blockchain networks.
The current state of DeFi liquidity remains divided across multiple platforms, including blockchain networks, decentralized exchanges, bridges, and applications. This fragmentation can lead to inefficient routing and isolated markets.
NEAR Intents uses an intent-based architecture where users define the outcome they want, such as exchanging one asset for another across different chains. Independent market participants called solvers then compete to complete that request.
The system aims to improve price discovery while making cross-chain activity easier to manage. Chain abstraction is also a central part of NEAR Intents, allowing users to interact with assets across networks like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana without managing separate blockchain workflows for each transaction.
