New Hampshire Introduces Protections Against Cryptocurrency ATM Scams
New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte and Attorney General John Formella joined forces to highlight the protection of Granite Staters against cryptocurrency ATM scams.
On September 14, 2026, they spoke alongside Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais, local law enforcement leaders, and advocates from AARP New Hampshire at a press conference in the Manchester Police Department.
The new law, Senate Bill 482, aims to prevent scammers from exploiting residents by creating $2,000 daily transaction limits, requiring a 48-hour hold on first transactions, and providing full refunds for reported fraudulent activities within 14 days.
