New York and Wyoming Unite on Crypto Regulation
New York and Wyoming have deepened their cooperation in regulating cryptocurrency and digital assets. The New York Department of Financial Services and Wyoming Division of Banking announced a memorandum of understanding to strengthen oversight of companies operating across both states.
The agreement, signed by Acting Superintendent Kaitlin Asrow and Wyoming Banking Commissioner Jeremiah Bishop, allows regulators to share supervisory experience when reviewing companies that operate in both New York and Wyoming. This includes licensing, chartering, examinations, and enforcement matters.
The pact also creates a framework for exchanging regulatory information, including historical examination records, market information, supervisory reports, and specialist analysis. Regulators can use this shared data to reduce duplicated work when reviewing companies that operate in both states.
