New York and Wyoming Unite on Crypto Regulation
New York and Wyoming have deepened their cooperation on cryptocurrency oversight with a new agreement.
The New York Department of Financial Services and Wyoming Division of Banking signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday, allowing the two regulators to share supervisory experience and information.
The agreement covers licensing, chartering, examinations, and enforcement matters, including the exchange of regulatory information such as historical examination records, market information, and supervisory reports.
Regulators can now share technical reviews and previous examination findings, reducing duplicated regulatory work for companies operating in both states.
As part of the agreement, New York and Wyoming will also coordinate examination schedules for companies operating in their jurisdictions, conducting joint examinations where appropriate.
