Nigeria's Crypto Market Booms to Over $90 Billion in Value
According to a recent report by Chainalysis, Sub-Saharan Africa will reach a total value of over $205 billion in cryptocurrency transactions between July 2024 and June 2025, representing a growth rate of 52% year-over-year. In Nigeria, the value of cryptocurrency transactions reached $92.1 billion in 2024, accounting for nearly one-third of all transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Nigeria is also ranked high on Chainalysis's 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index. The most popular cryptocurrencies used in Nigeria include Bitcoin, USDT, and USDC, which are often used to send money abroad or make purchases online.
However, as cryptocurrency becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, concerns about scams and phishing attempts have also grown. BestChange, a cryptocurrency exchange-rate aggregator, offers a solution by providing a single interface for users to compare and convert between different cryptocurrencies, including Naira to Bitcoin or USDT, and crypto to fiat currencies.
