Nordone Clinches GOP Nomination for South Carolina Senate Seat

Darline Graham Nordone has secured the Republican nomination for South Carolina's special Senate primary election, winning the runoff with approximately 52.5% of the vote.

Nordone, who was appointed to fill the seat temporarily after her brother Lindsey's death, expressed mixed emotions about her victory, stating that there is still a 'big hole in my heart' but adding that she knows her brother would be proud.

The nomination marks the starting line for an even bigger fight ahead, as Nordone will face off against Democratic candidate Annie Andrews, a pediatrician who won her primary in June. The Cook Political Report rates the race as 'Solid Republican', indicating that the seat is unlikely to flip in Democrats' favor.
