A report claims that the North Korean hacker group WaterPlum launched a massive cryptocurrency theft campaign between December 2025 and July 2026, targeting workers in the crypto, AI, and NFT industries.
The hackers allegedly posed as a recruitment agency, using fake job offers to infect over 30,000 devices in more than 100 countries with malware.
The report states that at least $10.7 million was stolen from more than 7,000 cryptocurrency wallets during this period, but publicly verifiable support for these claims is limited.
