Chainalysis has attributed the $387 million Bitget exchange hack to North Korean actors, adding to the growing consensus that Pyongyang's hackers were behind one of the year's largest crypto thefts.

The firm used in-house AI to accelerate tracing, compressing what it estimated as more than 20 hours of manual work into under 10 minutes.

According to Chainalysis, the stolen funds moved quickly across multiple blockchains: $387 million left Bitget within three hours and landed on four networks - Ethereum (49.7%), XRP (40.8%), Zcash (7.6%), and Tron (1.8%).

The attackers then ran the funds through cross-chain liquidity and messaging protocols, instant swaps, and laundering services to obscure the trail.
