North Korean Hackers Infect 30,000 Devices, Steal Crypto Wallet Credentials

Share

The Japanese National Police Agency and the FBI have confirmed that over 30,000 devices were infected by North Korean hackers, resulting in the theft of credentials from approximately 7,000 crypto wallets.

This widespread cyber attack has significant implications for the cryptocurrency market in Japan, where many users store their digital assets. The affected wallets may be vulnerable to further hacking attempts or unauthorized transactions.

The use of trust-type stablecoins may also be impacted by a recent request from Japan's FSA to exempt these assets from mandatory tax reporting starting in 2027.
