Crypto exchange Bitget has been hacked by suspected North Korean hackers, resulting in the theft of $351.6 million from its hot and warm wallets.

The breach was discovered Thursday evening after security systems flagged multiple unauthorized transfers.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that the attackers accessed a critical backend system within the wallet infrastructure, spoofed transaction data, and triggered the authorization process to move funds out.

The incident affected multiple assets, including ETH, XRP, BNB, AVAX, USDT, and USDC, and involved the Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC, and Base chains.

Bitget has suspended all withdrawals while investigating the incident with help from law enforcement agencies and cybersecurity experts.
