Notional Finance, a DeFi project, suffered a hack on September 4. The attacker exploited a vulnerability in an old V1 contract protocol.

A flaw in the contract's data conversion allowed artificially created debt to be displayed as zero during collateral checks.

This enabled the thief to withdraw approximately $69,000 worth of DAI and $1.66 million USDC.

The stolen assets were exchanged for about 689 ETH and sent to Tornado Cash.
