Novo Nordisk's Oral Wegovy Shows Promising Weight Loss Results

Novo Nordisk's oral Wegovy formulation has shown promising results in a recent study. The OCTANE research, which tracked 194 individuals who transitioned from injectable obesity medications to the pill version of Wegovy, found that participants achieved an average body weight reduction of 4.1% within a three-month period.

The study also showed that nearly 41% of participants experienced a weight loss of at least 5% during this time frame. Additionally, the percentage of participants meeting clinical criteria for obesity decreased from 87.1% to 65.5%.

Novo Nordisk's Chief Scientific Officer Martin Holst Lange stated that patient adherence challenges have not materialized as some industry observers anticipated, and that 'many patients actually perform better with the pill compared to the injectable formulations.'
