Nscale Snaps Up Anyscale for $1.65B in Bid to Dominate AI Cloud
Nscale, a UK-based AI cloud platform, is set to acquire Anyscale, a software startup behind the widely used Ray framework for scaling AI workloads across GPUs. The deal is valued at approximately $1.65 billion and is expected to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
Anyscale's roughly 200 employees will join Nscale as part of the deal, and the brand will continue operating independently while serving its existing client base. This acquisition marks a significant step for Nscale in building a vertically integrated AI stack.
Nscale recently raised $2 billion in Series C funding at a valuation of $14.6 billion. The company has been expanding its capabilities through strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of American Intelligence & Power Corporation (AIPCorp), which brought with it a microgrid capable of generating over 8 GW of energy in West Virginia.
Anyscale's clients include Coinbase, which relies on Ray for scalable compute orchestration. The company's multi-cloud deployment capabilities are particularly relevant to crypto companies, which tend to be cautious about vendor lock-in and single points of failure.
