Nu Enters US Market with Stablecoin-Backed Accounts and Digital Asset Trading
Nu, the parent company of Nubank, has launched in the US with a suite of banking products and a multi-currency account. The new services allow customers to hold and trade digital assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, directly within the app.
The Nu Global account converts customer deposits into USDC and EURC stablecoins, which earn daily yields of 3.50% APY on USDC and 2.20% APY on EURC. The account also comes with a virtual Mastercard card and allows users to send and receive money across over 35 countries.
Nu's US entry includes the Nu Account, which offers a metal debit card and a credit card with no annual fee and unlimited 1.5% cashback. The company has applied for a national bank charter with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and received conditional approval in January 2026.
