Nvidia Becomes First Stock to Trade as Both Traditional Equity and Token
Nvidia is now more than just a stock on the market. It's also available as a tokenized equity and even as a crypto-adjacent leveraged trade.
This convergence of traditional equities, cryptocurrencies, and derivatives is happening at the distribution layer, not the asset layer, according to Alice Liu, Head of Research at CoinMarketCap.
The trend is clear: 25% of the top 76 trending assets on CoinMarketCap's trending board are tokenized equities. In fact, as of September 10th, there were 1,851 tokenized-stocks instruments listed on CoinMarketCap with a combined market capitalization of about $2.3 billion and roughly $2 billion in daily trading volume.
The striking part is not that Nvidia can be tokenized, but rather that the token can sit beside crypto-native assets on the same trading interface. This creates a new market structure where an investor can move between traditional Nvidia exposure and crypto-style products without necessarily changing screens.
