Nvidia Hits Record High as U.S. Stocks and Crypto Shares Rally
Nvidia surged to a new record close, advancing 2.1% and pushing its market value to $5.76 trillion. The tech giant's gains came alongside broader market strength, with the Nasdaq Composite rising 1.05% to 27,477.31, the S&P 500 gaining 0.67% to 7,773.99, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average adding 0.18% to 51,268.26.
Other major tech stocks also climbed, with Tesla up 2.2%, Microsoft gaining 1.48%, and Meta adding 1.9%. Beyond tech, sectors like oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and retail saw notable gains, with Schlumberger rising over 3% and Moderna up nearly 7%. Vaxcyte finished the day with a 30% increase, while Novavax rose more than 20%.
Crypto-related shares also saw positive movement, with Coinbase and Circle each gaining more than 2%. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index rose 1.68%, led by JDZG's 6.40% increase.
