NY Court Orders $58M Restitution for Bitcoin Ponzi Scammer Renwick Haddow
Renwick Haddow, a notorious Ponzi scammer, has been ordered by a New York court to pay $58.2 million in restitution to his victims.
The order was signed on July 23, 2026, by Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the New York Southern District Court.
Haddow pleaded guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy charges related to two investment schemes: Bitcoin Store and Bar Works.
He solicited investments in these start-up companies from November 2014 through June 2017, making material misrepresentations about their management, operations, and performance.
Haddow was arrested in Morocco in July 2017 on a provisional arrest warrant for participating in these schemes.
