NYSE Partners with Blockchain.com for Tokenized U.S. Stocks

Share

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has partnered with Blockchain.com to offer tokenized U.S. stocks to crypto investors. This move aims to connect Wall Street's listed companies with the crypto-native investor base.

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore offering tokenized versions of U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds through NYSE's planned digital trading venue.

Blockchain.com Chief Executive Peter Smith stated that this partnership is a step toward removing barriers that keep people out of equity markets, saying 'People shouldn't be limited in owning stocks based on where they happen to live or the brokerage and information they may or may not have access to.'

The planned digital trading venue would operate as a digital alternative trading system (ATS), promising 24/7 trading and instant on-chain settlement.
