NYSE Tests Avalanche Tech in Tokenized Securities Push
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has spent roughly a year testing Avalanche technology as part of its plans to trade tokenized securities. According to Ava Labs President Charley Cooper, the evaluation covered both technical performance and project economics.
ICE executive Michael Blaugrund said his company was 'very engaged' with Avalanche during the assessment period, but neither ICE nor NYSE has named an infrastructure provider, so the testing does not confirm that Avalanche has been selected. The evaluation paired Pillar matching with blockchain settlement technology.
The NYSE's tokenization initiative also involves a separate partner arrangement for specific market infrastructure. tZERO would serve as a design partner for digital transfer-agent and broker-dealer infrastructure supporting ICE's forthcoming NYSE-affiliated tokenized-securities platform, subject to regulatory approval.
