OG.com Seeks CFTC Approval for Stock-Linked Perpetual Futures
OG.com Markets has filed with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to launch cash-settled perpetual futures tied to individual stocks, seeking to bring 'perps' to US equity derivatives. The company proposed rules for single-stock futures that do not expire and can be traded continuously, 24 hours a day, five days a week.
This move is part of a wider trend, as trading platforms and prediction market firms are increasingly exploring whether the perpetual futures model can be adapted to US equities. Other companies such as Coinbase, Kraken's Bitnomial, and Kalshi have also filed applications for similar products.
The CFTC has been gradually creating pathways for perpetual-style crypto derivatives, setting the stage for further expansion into traditional markets. OG.com's filing fits into this work, which includes a case-by-case review process for perpetual contracts established in May by the agency.
