Oil Prices Plummet, Bitcoin Soars Past $84,000
Bitcoin continued its upward trend, surpassing $84,000 in value. The price surge came as international oil prices declined for a fourth consecutive day, spurring buying activity across risk assets.
The decline in oil prices led to increased investor sentiment, with major altcoins also experiencing gains. Monero (XMR) saw a notable increase of 13%, while Dogecoin (DOGE), XRP, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) each rose by around 3%.
The S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures also showed signs of increased risk appetite, with both rising by more than 0.5%. US Treasury prices were broadly higher as well.
