OKX and ICE Launch Tokenized Stock Trading Platform in US
OKX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has filed with the US SEC to launch a tokenized stock trading platform. The platform, developed through a joint venture with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), would offer digital versions of publicly listed firms, trading on a blockchain infrastructure.
The tokenized stock trading platform would be operated by OKXICE LLC, a joint venture between OKX and NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). The initial filing covers 63 U.S.-listed stocks.
Under the SEC's new framework, issuers have 30 days to opt out before trading can begin. Tokenized shares must carry the same rights as conventional stocks, including dividend and voting rights.
