OKX and ICE Plan 24/7 Tokenized Stock Trading Platform
OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) have announced plans to launch a 24/7 trading platform for tokenized U.S. stocks. The joint venture, OKXICE, filed a notice with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 4, 2026, outlining its proposal to bring over 60 blue-chip equities onto the blockchain under the SEC’s new innovation exemption.
The platform will operate permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on X Layer, allowing tokenized shares of companies like Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Tesla to trade around the clock. Issuers will have 30 days to opt out of the program. Andrew Cuomo, co-chair of OKXICE and former New York governor, called the initiative a "landmark step" toward a global, 24/7 Wall Street.
The filing follows the SEC’s September 17 decision to grant a five-year exemption for tokenized stock trading. OKXICE combines OKX’s crypto infrastructure with ICE’s experience in regulated markets, following ICE’s $25 billion investment in OKX earlier in 2026. The move comes as traditional exchanges like Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange also explore extended trading hours.
