OKX and ICE Unveil 24/7 Tokenized Stock Platform
OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, are joining forces to launch a 24/7 tokenized stock platform. The joint venture, OKXICE LLC, has notified the US Securities and Exchange Commission of its plans to launch a tokenized securities venue under the SEC's new innovation exemption.
The proposed platform will allow investors to trade tokenized versions of US-listed stocks around the clock, using permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer. The platform will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will feature 63 proposed stock symbols, including major companies like Nvidia, Apple, and Tesla, as well as crypto-related names like Strategy and Coinbase.
The move is part of a growing trend in tokenized equities, with other companies like Robinhood already deploying 500 tokenized stocks on Arbitrum in a single day. The use of blockchain-based trading rails could allow assets to trade continuously, using onchain infrastructure for settlement and liquidity.
