OKX CEO Star: 'No Fund Can Beat Bitcoin' as Industry Transitions to AI-Powered FinTech
Star, the CEO and founder of OKX, recently sat down for an hour-long conversation with quantitative analyst Julien. The discussion covered OKX's global compliance landscape, internal AI practices, minimalist trading philosophy, and Star's thoughts on the next five years of the industry.
OKX boasts over 100 million registered accounts and processes tens of billions in weekly trades, making it one of the largest crypto platforms globally. In Europe, OKX has obtained MiCA, MiFID, and payment licenses across the region and conducts regular compliance reviews with regulators.
Star's experience in the industry began around 2011 when he first purchased Bitcoin for $10. He later made 10,000 BTC through a dice game called Just a Dice, where he used statistical analysis to calculate trends and invested algorithmically. Star also revealed that he initially missed out on listing Ethereum but has since become more open to innovation.
In the conversation, Star emphasized the importance of Bitcoin as an investment, stating that 'no fund can beat Bitcoin.' He attributed this to Bitcoin's unique properties and its ability to outperform traditional financial instruments. Star also highlighted OKX's focus on AI, with over 90% of routine code writing and testing tasks being completed automatically by AI.
