OKX Money App Launches with Stablecoin Savings and Spending Features
OKX has launched a new consumer app called OKX Money, designed to simplify stablecoin transactions for users. The app allows eligible customers to convert more than 50 local currencies into USDG, USDC, or USDT, and spend them using a virtual or physical card. OKX Money offers up to a 10% annual yield on eligible USDG holdings and up to 10% cash back on purchases, though rates and eligibility vary by location.
The app is aimed at consumers who want access to digital dollars and global payments. Users can transfer stablecoins, switch between supported tokens without conversion fees, and make purchases in other currencies with no foreign-exchange fees or markup. While similar services exist, OKX Money targets non-crypto users who may not be familiar with blockchain technology.
OKX, which ranks third by trading volume on Coingecko, is positioning this app to cater to markets where local currencies are volatile and access to U.S.-dollar savings or global cards is limited. The rollout follows OKX’s acquisition of a Maltese payments-institution license this year, supporting its push into consumer finance. The app is launching in unspecified participating markets, with further details on launch countries and card providers yet to be disclosed.
