OKX Secures $25 Billion Valuation with Ripple and Circle as Investors
OKX has secured new strategic investment at a $25 billion valuation, attracting major players like Ripple, Circle, Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures, and Qube Research & Technologies. This funding round follows a previous investment from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in March, which also valued the company at $25 billion. The latest round underscores OKX’s growing ties to traditional finance as it expands into stablecoins and tokenized finance.
The investor list highlights OKX’s deepening relationships with Wall Street. Ripple and Circle are central to the stablecoin and digital payments market, while SC Ventures brings the backing of a major global bank. Qube Research & Technologies adds institutional trading expertise to the mix. OKX has already been collaborating with Standard Chartered and Blackrock on tokenized collateral infrastructure, further integrating its platform with traditional financial systems.
OKX founder and CEO Star Xu emphasized the company’s vision to build a financial technology platform that combines crypto technology with the standards of global financial institutions. The funding will support OKX’s growth and its efforts to tokenize real-world assets. The company is also launching OKX Money, a standalone app targeting emerging markets, which offers savings, transfers, and card payments with stablecoin rewards.
Despite the strong institutional backing, OKX faces regulatory challenges. In 2025, an OKX operating entity pleaded guilty in the U.S. to operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business, resulting in over $504 million in penalties. This regulatory history poses a risk as OKX expands into regulated financial markets. However, the latest investment round signals growing confidence from major financial institutions in OKX’s future prospects.
