OKX Secures Fresh Funding at $25 Billion Valuation
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has secured fresh capital from its existing partners and investors, achieving a $25 billion valuation. The funding round included contributions from Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures, Qube Research & Technologies, Ripple, and stablecoin issuer Circle, as announced in a Tuesday press release shared with Cointelegraph. OKX did not disclose the exact amount raised.
This latest investment extends the funding round OKX announced in March, when it raised $200 million at the same valuation from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. The new capital will support OKX’s transition into a broader global financial technology platform, combining crypto technology with the standards of traditional financial institutions, according to Star Xu, founder and CEO of OKX.
On Monday, a joint venture between OKX and ICE filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a tokenized stock trading platform under the regulator’s new innovation exemption.
