OKX seeks SEC approval for tokenized U.S. stock trading platform
OKX has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a platform for trading tokenized U.S. stocks. The exchange plans to initially support 63 stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) if the application is approved.
The move comes as part of OKX's broader strategy to expand its offerings in the digital asset space. Tokenized stocks allow investors to trade traditional equities in the form of cryptographic tokens, potentially offering greater liquidity and accessibility.
This application follows a trend among crypto exchanges seeking regulatory approval to bridge the gap between traditional and digital markets. The SEC's response will be critical in determining the future of such platforms in the U.S.
