OKX Tightens Institutional Trading Compliance in Europe Under MiCA

Share

OKX, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has updated its guidance for European institutional users to ensure compliance with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

The update focuses on trading and stablecoin compliance, affecting eligible institutional accounts interacting with supported fiat and stablecoin markets within the European Economic Area.

According to OKX, this change is a result of its ongoing efforts to adjust its European operating model around MiCA, making it more granular in terms of product-level decisions about what can be offered, to whom, and under which legal entity.

The exchange is essentially moving from broad 'allowed or not allowed' questions to more specific rules for issuers, exchanges, and service providers, including stablecoin-specific regulatory requirements.
