OKXICE Files to Launch 24/7 Tokenized US Stock Trading Platform
A joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and NYSE-parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a tokenized securities platform for around-the-clock trading of US stocks. The platform, OKXICE, aims to make over 60 listed companies available for trading 24/7, a move that could revolutionize the way stocks are traded. Former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who is co-chair of OKXICE, described the initiative as a 'landmark step toward a truly global, 24/7 Wall Street.' The SEC's approval of an exemption for tokenized stocks and securities last month paved the way for this new development. Global exchanges, including the NYSE, Nasdaq, and London Stock Exchange, are also preparing to launch round-the-clock trading in the coming months.
