O'Leary Expects Bitcoin Price to Surge to $150,000 Amid Regulatory Clarity
Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Leary Ventures and once a vocal critic of Bitcoin, has made a significant shift in his stance on the digital asset. Speaking at the Avalanche Summit in New York on September 18, he announced that he is actively buying new positions in cryptocurrencies and expects Bitcoin to eventually gain a meaningful share of institutional portfolios.
O'Leary's near-term projection for Bitcoin's price is $150,000, which he believes will be reached once regulatory clarity takes shape. He also sees the potential for Bitcoin to command 1% to 3% of alternative-asset allocations, implying significant market cap expansion.
The O'Leary Ventures chairman pointed out that institutional endorsement, such as a major stock exchange adopting blockchain technology, would be a key inflection point in driving mainstream adoption. He also noted that CEO interest in multiple blockchain platforms is growing, suggesting a future where no single chain dominates.
