Kevin O'Leary, a well-known investor from Shark Tank, expressed doubts about Ethereum's future as an industry standard for on-chain applications. Speaking at the Avalanche Summit, he cited scalability and speed constraints as major concerns.

O'Leary stated that newer chains like Solana (SOL) and Avalanche (AVAX) are gaining traction due to their improved scalability, lower costs, and faster transactions. These factors make them attractive alternatives to Ethereum's slower network.

Ethereum has dominated the DeFi market with a 54% share since its launch in 2015, powering millions of digital business utilities and use cases. However, O'Leary believes that Ethereum may not be fast enough to maintain future demand under its control.
