O'Leary Rebuilds Crypto Holdings Amid Quantum Computing Fears
Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Leary Ventures, has begun rebuilding his crypto positions, predicting that Bitcoin could reach $1 million if the industry resolves its quantum computing concerns.
O'Leary spoke at the Avalanche Summit in New York, stating he's actively building new positions after a period on the sidelines. He believes the first major stock exchange to adopt blockchain technology will trigger a compliance cascade across the financial system, which he calls a 'watershed moment.'
The investor says institutions are holding back due to fragmentation among competing chains, with CEOs across industries unable to agree on which blockchain their companies are betting on.
O'Leary projects that Bitcoin could claim 1% to 3% of institutional alternative-asset portfolios, comparing it directly to current gold allocations among pension funds and endowments. He also expects crypto regulation to resurface due to lawmakers working on tax policy for digital assets.
