O'Leary Sees $1M BTC Price Target, Warns Quantum Computing Threat
Kevin O'Leary, a well-known investor and blockchain enthusiast, recently spoke about the long-term potential of Bitcoin (BTC) on 'The Rollup' podcast. He expressed his opinion that BTC could reach $1 million in value over time, but emphasized that quantum computers pose a significant threat to its cryptography.
O'Leary stated that institutional investors are hesitant to allocate large amounts of money to BTC due to concerns about the impact of quantum computing on its security. He noted that these investors currently view BTC as an asset that can replace part of gold's allocation in a portfolio, but do not consider it a core investment.
O'Leary also discussed his shift in focus from investing in individual blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum to exploring the possibility of industry-specific blockchain adoption. He believes that different blockchains could be chosen for various industries, such as sports memorabilia or tokenized equities, rather than converging on a single network.
