Ondo Finance Brings Tokenized Treasury Asset to Tempo Blockchain
Ondo Finance has launched its dollar yield token, USDY, on Tempo, a payments-focused blockchain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm. This integration makes USDY the first permissionless tokenized treasury asset to operate on Tempo's network.
Tempo was built with sub-second finality, stablecoin-denominated fees, and dedicated payment lanes that guarantee predictable execution of payrolls and disbursements, even during peak network activity. On top of this infrastructure, USDY delivers yields backed by short-term U.S. Treasury bonds, available directly within payment flows, wallets, and corporate treasuries.
The key feature of USDY is its ability to be freely transferred on-chain without requiring prior authorization from each counterparty. This makes it compatible with payroll rails, merchant payments, and remittance corridors where pre-registering every participant is not feasible.
