Ondo Finance Expands to Private Markets with Tokenized AI Notes
Ondo Finance, known for bringing traditional assets like stocks and treasuries on-chain, is expanding into private markets with the launch of Ondo Private Markets. The platform introduces tokenized notes linked to the performance of pre-IPO companies, starting with an unnamed AI firm. These notes do not represent actual shares but offer exposure to the company's value upon a liquidity event, such as an IPO. Investors can hold or trade these notes in self-custody wallets or on secondary markets.
The first notes begin trading this week, marking Ondo's foray into a competitive space. Robinhood and Citi have also ventured into private markets, with Robinhood investing $75 million in OpenAI stock and Citi developing a blockchain marketplace for private-company shares.
The ONDO token has seen volatility, rising over 50% in September before stabilizing around $0.50. Key levels to watch are $0.55, if trading volume picks up, and $0.48, if interest wanes. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) remains bullish but below its signal line, while the On-Balance Volume (OBV) indicates some buyer return after a dip.
