Ondo Finance Launches Tokenized Pre-IPO AI Notes in Private Markets
Ondo Finance, a platform specializing in real-world asset tokenization, is extending its reach into private markets. The company has launched Ondo Private Markets, a new service offering tokenized notes tied to pre-IPO companies. These notes provide economic exposure to an unnamed artificial intelligence company, without requiring direct ownership of its shares.
The notes are designed to pay out based on the value realized per common share of the referenced company at a qualifying liquidity event. Eligible investors can hold these notes in self-custody wallets or trade them on secondary markets 24/7. Ondo expects the first notes to begin trading this week and plans to introduce products linked to companies in sectors like robotics, cybersecurity, biotech, and infrastructure.
Ondo’s existing platform, Ondo Stocks, which offers tokenized US stocks and ETFs, has already surpassed $1 billion in total value locked and provides access to over 450 tokenized stocks and ETFs. The expansion into private markets follows similar moves by other platforms, including Robinhood’s investment in OpenAI stock and Citi’s reported blockchain marketplace for private-company shares.
