Ondo Stocks Enables In-Kind Minting on Ethereum and BNB Chain
Ondo Stocks, a tokenized-equities platform, has introduced in-kind minting for its tokens on Ethereum and BNB Chain. This feature allows approved institutions to swap their share inventory for Ondo Stocks tokens without needing to source separate cash.
The upgrade is made possible through Alpaca's Instant Tokenization Network (ITN), which enables institutions to mint and redeem tokenized stocks against brokerage-held shares around the clock.
Ondo frames this upgrade as a market-maker tool, allowing desks to use existing share inventory to replenish token supply, manage exposure, and respond to demand. This should support tighter spreads and more depth across connected exchanges, wallets, and DeFi apps in the Ondo Stocks ecosystem.
