Open Standard Launches Open USD Stablecoin with $1 Billion in Liquidity
Open Standard has launched its Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin across four major blockchain networks, including Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo. The new stablecoin is backed by over $1 billion in near-term launch liquidity committed by the company's founding partners.
The OUSD stablecoin allows for seamless 1:1 conversions between U.S. dollars and OUSD without mint or burn fees, thanks to established business access routes through payment giants like Stripe, Mastercard, Visa, and Coinbase.
Bridge Building Inc., a Stripe-owned company, currently issues the digital asset, while reserves are held at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY Mellon. Chainlink's data oracle infrastructure supports use cases involving collateral, trading, lending, margin products, and more.
