Open Standard has launched OUSD, its Open USD stablecoin, to make global money movement easier for businesses. This new stablecoin is issued by a consortium including Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa.

OUSD offers free mint-and-burn economics with a small predictable per-transaction fee, which can lower costs for cross-border payroll, remittances, and crypto/DeFi flows.

The token is available to businesses through Stripe's payments platform and developer APIs. It can be sent to wallets in over 100 countries across Tempo, Base, Ethereum, and Solana.

Open Standard charges a small predictable transaction fee instead of variable fees that can make stablecoin flows cost-prohibitive. This model aims to give businesses better economics than other stablecoins.
