Open USD Stablecoin Launches with Major Backing from Coinbase, Mastercard, and Stripe
Open Standard's dollar stablecoin, Open USD (OUSD), has launched on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo. The token is issued by Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure firm owned by Stripe, and backed by leading companies such as Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa.
The launch of OUSD marks an important milestone for Open Standard, which has secured over 200 partners since unveiling the project in June. These partners will earn rewards in proportion to the supply and activity they drive, with a chance to receive equity in the company.
Businesses can now mint and burn OUSD at a 1:1 rate against the dollar without incurring any costs through Mastercard, Stripe, or Visa's stablecoin platform. The token will first be available for trade on Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap.
